Papua new guinea: An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck Papua New Guinea on Monday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the US Geological Survey reported that the epicenter was located 157 km from Kokopo, at a depth of 10 km.
Papua New Guinea lies within the Ring of Fire, a seismically and volcanically active zone along the Pacific Ocean. This region contains 90% of the world's active volcanoes.
