Gaza: The Al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, handed over three Israeli captives to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Saturday morning as part of the fourth batch of the ongoing prisoner exchange deal between Hamas and the Israeli entity. The three captives are Ofer Kalderon, Keith Siegel, and Yarden Bibas.
According to Qatar News Agency,correspondent, the handover took place at two separate locations in the Gaza Strip. Vehicles belonging to the Al Qassam Brigades transported prisoners Ofer Kalderon and Yarden Bibas to the handover platform in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, where they were handed over to ICRC representatives. In Gaza City, the Al Qassam Brigades handed over the third prisoner, Keith Siegel, who holds both American and Israeli citizenship, to a representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
In related news, the Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners Club announced in a statement that 183 Palestinian prisoners would be released from Israeli prisons today as part of the fourth batch of the exchange deal. The statement clarified that 18 of the released prisoners are serving life sentences, 54 are serving high sentences, and 111 are from the Gaza Strip who were arrested after Oct. 7, 2023.
The ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the Israeli entity came into effect on January 19, ending the bloody war waged by the Israeli occupation army on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023.
