GCC Strongly Condemns Illegal Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque

Doha: The Gulf Cooperation Council: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) condemned the attacks by the Israeli occupation authorities and extremist groups on the Palestinian people, the latest of which was the illegal storming of the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the attack on worshippers.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Council stated that GCC Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi expressed his strong condemnation and profound denunciation of the attacks by the Israeli occupation authorities and extremist groups against the Palestinian people. The recent illegal incursion into the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the assault on worshippers, and the targeting of the Hajja Hamida Mosque in the village of Kifl Haris were highlighted as a blatant violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and the provisions of international law.

Moreover, Albudaiwi underlined that these attacks represent a serious escalation and an unacceptable transgression. He stressed the necessity for the international community to bear its legal and humanitarian responsibilities to stop these repeated violations that destabilise security, exacerbate tensions in the region, and to provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian people and their religious sanctities.
