GCC and UfM Leaders Explore Enhanced Cooperation

Dubrovnik: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi engaged in discussions with Secretary-General of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Nasser Kamel, focusing on enhancing cooperation between the GCC and UfM across several fields. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Dubrovnik 2025 Forum in Croatia.

According to Qatar News Agency, both leaders exchanged views on the latest developments affecting regional and international arenas. Al Budaiwi emphasized the GCC's ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with other countries and organizations, driven by a commitment to multilateral partnerships that bolster security, peace, and sustainable development. He highlighted the Mediterranean region as a key partner due to existing relationships, expressing the GCC's intent to further develop these connections to foster stability and prosperity for both parties' populations.

In a speech at a high-level discussion session, the GCC underscored the significance of enhancing cooperation and strategic partnerships with Mediterranean countries. This collaboration aims to solidify regional security foundations and promote development and shared prosperity for the peoples of both regions.
