Paris: The foreign ministers of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom (UK) have condemned the Israeli attack on Qatar, emphasizing that it constitutes a violation of Qatar's sovereignty and poses a risk of further escalation in the Middle East.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a joint statement, the three ministers expressed their solidarity with Qatar and their support for its role in mediating between Israel and Hamas, alongside Egypt and the US. They urged all parties to exercise maximum restraint and pursue peace.
The ministers highlighted the need for a permanent ceasefire, the release of all remaining hostages, and the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip to prevent famine. They called for an immediate halt to Israeli military operations in Gaza City to prevent civilian displacement and casualties.
They also urged the United Nations and humanitarian organizations to operate safely in the region, noting that the Israeli attack on Qatar threatens the potential for an agreement to release hostages and end the conflict in Gaza. The ministers called for intensified efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire.
