Gaza: Four Palestinians were martyred Monday evening in an Israeli airstrike targeting displaced people in the southern Gaza Strip. Local sources reported that four citizens were killed and others wounded when Israeli forces bombed a tent sheltering displaced people in the Al Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis.
According to Qatar News Agency, earlier Monday, a Palestinian from the same city succumbed to injuries sustained in a previous Israeli airstrike targeting the Al Mawasi area. A boy was also moderately wounded when he was targeted by a drone near the Bani Suheila roundabout, east of the city.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced yesterday that the death toll from the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 71,386 martyrs and 171,264 wounded.
The ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel went into effect last October as part of the first phase of US President Donald Trump's initiative to end the war on Gaza. However, the Israeli army continued to violate the agreement and its violations against Palestinian civilians through bombing and targeting residential areas, resulting in numerous deaths and injuries, exacerbating the suffering of the population, disrupting efforts to restore stability in the Gaza Strip, and hindering the return of displaced persons to their homes.
