Gaza: Four Palestinian journalists and their families were martyred, including one who had been reported missing for two days, in yet another brutal crime perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces against members of the press.

According to Qatar News Agency, journalist Nour Qandil, her husband Khaled Ahmad Abu Seif, also a journalist, and their young daughter were martyred after Israeli fighter jets bombarded their home in Deir Al Balah, central Gaza Strip.

In another targeted airstrike on the Bir Al Naaja neighborhood in northern Gaza, the occupation forces assassinated photojournalist Aziz Al Hajjar, who was killed alongside his wife and children.

In Al Qarara, southern Gaza, and after two days of lost contact, journalist Abdul Rahman Tawfiq Al Abadleh was confirmed to have been killed in an Israeli airstrike.

The number of journalists martyred in the Gaza Strip since the onset of the aggression has surpassed all known figures in modern history, an unprecedented development marked not only by the sheer toll of victims but also by the brutal and deliberate targeting of their families and homes, PJS confirmed.

It called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to uphold its moral and legal responsibility and act promptly to issue arrest warrants against leaders of the Israeli occupation involved in killing the Palestinian journalists on purpose and targeting their families and homes.

This systematic targeting of journalists is a flagrant war crime that demands immediate prosecution and accountability before international justice, and neither should there be impunity for war crimes, nor should the pure blood of journalists be relegated to mere numbers in cold and indifferent UN reports, PJS stressed.

In addition, PJS held the Israeli occupation fully and directly responsible for these brutal crimes, emphasizing that targeting journalists and their families is a terrorist act and a crime against humanity that would never go unpunished.

It also warned that the silence of the international community and human rights institutions, coupled with the inaction of UN bodies, amounts to clear collusion with the Israeli entity and grants the killer further green light to conduct massacres against the free press.
