FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025: Ireland’s Head Coach Praises Qatar’s Sport Facilities

Doha: The Republic of Ireland's U17 national team Head Coach Colin O'Brien expressed his happiness about his team's participation in the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025, set to take place from November 3 to 27.

According to Qatar News Agency, O'Brien described this participation as a significant milestone in the history of the youth national team and an integral part of Ireland's football legacy. In a press statement, the Head Coach shared the team's enthusiasm about visiting Qatar for the first time, celebrating the country's vibrant culture, and reliving the spirit of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which captured the hearts of millions.

O'Brien praised Qatar's state-of-the-art sports facilities, which are built in line with the highest international standards. He highlighted the world-class quality of the stadiums and training venues, noting that they contribute to enhancing player and team performance. He also expressed delight in having qualified for the tournament, emphasizing that it will offer the team a unique opportunity to experience Qatari culture and engage with teams and fans from around the world.

The Head Coach mentioned that his players are expected to draw attention back home and expressed pride in participating in this event, which aims to inspire the youth and play an important role in the future of Irish football. The tournament will be held at Aspire Academy, a world-class facility known for producing elite football talents, and will see Ireland compete against Paraguay, Uzbekistan, and Panama in the group stage.

The FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 will mark Ireland U-17's first appearance in a global tournament, participating in the inaugural 48-team edition. This is the first of five consecutive editions to be hosted by Qatar through 2029.
