London: European stock indices closed mixed at the end of trading Friday, after rising earlier in the session, trimming their weekly gains. The pan-European Stoxx 600 index closed down 0.02 percent, reaching 553.74 points at the close.

According to Qatar News Agency, the UK's FTSE 100 index fell 0.42 percent, closing at 9,138.90 points. In contrast, the German DAX index rose 0.07 percent, recording 24,359.97 points, and the French CAC 40 index rose 0.66 percent.
