Elon Musk Announces Departure from Trump Administration Role

Washington: Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is set to depart US President Donald Trump administration and leave his role as a special government employee. This decision marks the end of his 130-day tenure at the US Department of Government Efficiency.

According to Qatar News Agency, Musk expressed his gratitude to President Donald Trump for the opportunity to contribute to reducing wasteful spending within the government. He took to his social media platform, X, to announce his departure, stating, "As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President Donald Trump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending."

Musk further emphasized the ongoing importance of the Department of Government Efficiency, stating that its mission to enhance efficiency and reduce waste would continue to grow stronger over time. "The DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government," he added.

Musk's 130-day mandate as a special government employee in the Trump administration was set to expire around May 30, marking the conclusion of his short-lived but impactful role.
