Doha: In a phone call on Sunday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelaaty and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov discussed a number of regional and international issues of common concern, in addition to ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the call addressed developments in the Gaza Strip and ongoing consultations regarding the draft resolution at the Security Council on developments in Gaza and security arrangements. The discussions took place in light of the deliberations occurring within the council.
