Egyptian, Iranian Foreign Ministers Discuss Situation in Gaza, Regional Developments

Doha: Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, and his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, discussed developments in Gaza and the region in a phone call on Friday. During the conversation, Abdelatty hoped that the recently reached Gaza ceasefire agreement would help restore stability and calm while reducing tensions in the region. He stressed the importance of all parties fully adhering to the agreement's terms within the agreed timeline and underscored the urgent need to ensure sustained and immediate delivery of humanitarian and medical aid to Gaza in the coming period.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Araghchi praised the efforts that facilitated the Gaza ceasefire agreement during the discussion.

On Wednesday evening, Qatar announced the successful outcome of joint mediation efforts conducted in partnership with Egypt and United States. These efforts led to an agreement between Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Israel to establish a ceasefire in Gaza, set to take effect next Sunday.
