Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelaaty engaged in a phone conversation with the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas, to examine the escalating military tensions in the region.
According to Qatar News Agency, during this discussion, both parties concurred on the importance of maintaining coordination and consultation, emphasizing the robust relations and strategic partnership between Egypt and the European Union. They agreed on the necessity of concerted efforts to reduce tensions in the region.
The dialogue highlighted the importance of diplomatic solutions to avert the region from descending into further instability. The Egyptian Foreign Minister reiterated Egypt's stance against the targeting of countries like the Gulf States, Jordan, Iraq, Turkiye, and Azerbaijan. He warned about the severe consequences of ongoing violence and conflict, which pose threats to both regional and international peace and security.
