Egyptian diplomats and experts praised the joint mediation efforts made by the State of Qatar:gyptian diplomats and experts praised the joint mediation efforts made by the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the United States of America to reach an agreement between the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the Israeli entity for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of prisoners and detainees.

According to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the announcement of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani on Wednesday night of the success of the mediation efforts came after intensive efforts and actions at all levels, which represented a major achievement after 15 full months of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which led to the martyrdom of over 45,000 people, in addition to 15,000 bodies still under the rubble and not yet recovered, and 100,000 injured.

For his part, a member of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Rakha Ahmad Hassan affirmed in a statement to QNA that the ceasefire agreement came as a result of intensive efforts since last year made by the State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt, in cooperation with the US, indicating that these efforts did not stop in light of the keenness of the State of Qatar and Egypt on the necessity of stopping the fighting and bringing humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip to end the starvation policy used by Israeli entity in addition to its prevention of food, medicine, and fuel and the siege of the Palestinian people, pointing out in this regard to the entity's targeting, during the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, of schools, hospitals, places of worship and even camps where the displaced have taken refuge.

He highlighted the strenuous efforts made by the State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt over the past months to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, exchange prisoners and detainees, and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the Strip.

Ambassador Rakha Ahmad Hassan added that Qatar and Egypt are essential partners in the Palestinian file due to two important matters, the first of which is that Palestine is part of Egypt's national security, second is that Qatar has a long history and a firm position in supporting the Palestinian cause and the national rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of their independent Palestinian state.

Member of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs indicated in his statements to the QNA that the State of Qatar has supported the Palestinian people throughout the past period humanely and financially, considering that the Gaza Strip is one of the most densely populated areas in the world, and is in constant need of more support, adding that in parallel with what the State of Qatar and Egypt have done to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, they are keen to emphasize the necessity of establishing an independent Palestinian state so that stability can prevail in the Middle East.
