Egyptian and Saudi Foreign Ministers Focus on Gaza and Sudan in Bilateral Call

Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelaaty and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, engaged in a significant phone conversation to address pressing regional issues and explore avenues to enhance bilateral relations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministers' dialogue centered on the evolving situation in Gaza. They underscored the necessity of ongoing bilateral cooperation to support initiatives that build on the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement. Both officials emphasized the critical need for a complete implementation of the agreement to ensure a sustainable ceasefire and to ease the humanitarian challenges faced by the residents of the Gaza Strip.

In addition, the Egyptian Foreign Minister highlighted the preparations underway for the Cairo International Conference on Early Recovery and Reconstruction of Gaza, aiming to further address the region's needs.

The discussion also turned to Sudan, where the ministers stressed the importance of achieving a ceasefire and establishing conditions conducive to launching a comprehensive political process. Such a process is viewed as essential to maintain Sudan's unity, sovereignty, and stability.

Expressing concern over the situation in El Fasher, the Egyptian Foreign Minister condemned the severe violations occurring there and called for unified regional and international efforts to support the Sudanese people and their national institutions.

The conversation concluded with both ministers reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the partnership between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, aiming to serve mutual interests and contribute to the overall security and stability in the region.
