Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Dutch counterpart, David van Weel, engaged in a phone conversation on Tuesday to discuss the ongoing situation in Gaza and explore avenues for strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to Qatar News Agency, Abdelatty emphasized the importance of fully implementing the Sharm El Sheikh peace agreement, which includes consolidating the cease-fire in Gaza. He highlighted the significance of moving forward with UN Security Council Resolution 2,803, which calls for the deployment of an international stabilization force and support for rebuilding efforts in the region.
The conversation also covered the critical need for the delivery of humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians. Abdelatty expressed Egypt's hope for active Dutch participation in an upcoming international conference focused on early recovery and reconstruction efforts in Gaza, which Egypt is set to host.
