Egyptian and Algerian Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Tensions Amid US-Iran Ceasefire

Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Algerian counterpart, Ahmed Attaf, discussed the situation in the Middle East during a phone call today, focusing on regional developments following the US-Iran ceasefire agreement. The discussions also addressed the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and its impact on efforts to achieve de-escalation in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, Abdelatty emphasized the necessity of concerted regional and international efforts to ensure the success of ongoing negotiations, solidify the ceasefire, and create an environment conducive to reaching an agreement between Washington and Tehran that could lead to ending the war.

The two ministers agreed to maintain coordination and consultation in the coming period, aiming to intensify efforts to reduce tensions and contain the situation. They underscored the importance of political and diplomatic solutions as the only viable means to prevent the Middle East from descending into chaos.
