Egypt and Saudi Arabia Urge Political Solutions to Regional Tensions

Cairo: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty and his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan emphasized during a phone call on Thursday the urgent need for regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions in the region. They highlighted the importance of prioritizing political solutions and advocating for dialogue and diplomacy to prevent the situation from deteriorating into broader confrontations and widespread chaos.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement indicating that the two ministers discussed ongoing efforts to manage the escalating situation. Abdelatty expressed concerns over the serious repercussions of the ongoing cycle of violence and the potential expansion of conflict, which poses threats to both regional and international peace and security. This situation presents significant challenges to the security of the entire region.

Additionally, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's full condemnation of attacks targeting the security and sovereignty of several Arab states, emphasizing that there is no justification for such actions. He underscored the necessity of respecting the principles of good neighborliness and state sovereignty.
