An earthquake measuring 4.5 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Sunday east of Choquetera, Peru.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that the earthquake occurred 42 km from Choquetera District, at a depth of 180 km.
There have been no reports of casualties or material damage as a result of the earthquake so far.
Peru experiences at least 400 noticeable earthquakes annually due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire, a major area of seismic activity that stretches along the western coast of the Americas.
