Djibouti: President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh, met in Djibouti with his Somali counterpart, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, to discuss bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them in areas of shared interest, particularly on the security front.
According to Qatar News Agency, both presidents addressed the humanitarian situation resulting from the wave of drought that has affected parts of Somalia, especially the Awdal Region. President Guelleh emphasized the need for urgent aid to support the drought-stricken people in the region.
The leaders also highlighted that the unity and development of Somalia are essential for achieving comprehensive peace and stability in the region.
