Department of Meteorology Warns Poor Horizontal Visibility Tonight

Doha: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning about poor horizontal visibility expected tonight in various areas. The weather inshore is predicted to feature scattered clouds with temperatures ranging from relatively cold to cold. As the night progresses, conditions are expected to become misty to foggy in certain locations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the offshore weather will also experience scattered clouds and haziness in certain areas. Inshore winds will blow from the southeast at speeds between 5 to 15 knots. Offshore winds will also be southeasterly, maintaining the same speed but occasionally gusting up to 20 knots in northern areas.

The sea state is expected to fluctuate, with inshore waters ranging from 1 to 3 feet, occasionally rising to 4 feet in the north. Offshore, the sea state will vary between 2 to 4 feet, with potential increases to 6 feet in northern areas. Visibility inshore is predicted to be between 4 to 9 kilometers, possibly reducing to 2 kilometers or less in certain areas later. Offshore visibility will remain between 4 to 9 kilometers.
