Beijing: China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks in Beijing with his Syrian counterpart Asaad Al Shibani, who is on an official visit to the Chinese capital, to discuss bilateral relations and ways to deepen cooperation. Wang expressed China's readiness to gradually resume exchanges with Syria at various levels and welcomed Damascus' participation in the Belt and Road Initiative.
According to Qatar News Agency, Wang reiterated Beijing's support for a Syria-led peace process, encouraging inclusive dialogue and efforts to advance reconstruction. Al Shibani expressed Syria's interest in benefiting from China's development experience and hopes that its involvement in the Belt and Road Initiative will support reconstruction and sustainable development in Syria.
