Baku: Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov spoke by phone with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, to discuss bilateral relations and a wide swath of regional and global security issues. Both sides addressed a variety of political, economic, and humanitarian cooperation fields, as well as issues on the bilateral relations agenda, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported in a statement.
According to Qatar News Agency, the statement added that both ministers heaped praise on the outcomes of the meeting of the Azerbaijan-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, hosted by Astrakhan, Russia, on Aug. 22, 2025. They underscored the importance of continuing joint coordination within this framework. The statement further indicated that both sides shared their takes on a range of issues of shared concern.
