Tunis: The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Towards the Future Summit, a two-day event held in Tunis, kicked off Tuesday under the theme "Artificial Intelligence Towards the Future: From the Information Society to the Intelligence Society." The summit is organized by the Arab Organization for Information and Communication Technologies in partnership with the Tunisian Ministry of Communication Technologies.
According to Qatar News Agency, the summit aims to strengthen the Arab world's role in shaping the future of artificial intelligence globally, based on the Arab Initiative for Artificial Intelligence (AI) adopted at the recent Arab Summit in Baghdad. This will be achieved by consolidating regional and international cooperation across multiple sectors to build AI ecosystems based on knowledge and expertise exchange, developing shared policies and legislation, and ensuring the safe and equitable use of technology to serve the economic and social development of the region's people.
The summit is assessing two decades of efforts to employ information and communication technologies to serve development, in addition to discussing topics related to artificial intelligence policies and its ethical and developmental dimensions, data governance, digital transformation, emerging technologies, and the uses of artificial intelligence. An exhibition for companies and institutions working in information and communication technologies is organized on its sidelines.
