Doha: Doha-based Arab Towns Award Est. (ATA) held a virtual meeting chaired by HE Secretary-General and President of the Arab Towns Organization (ATO) Eng. Abdulrahman bin Hisham Al Asfour, with participation from the President of ATA and Director General of Doha Municipality Eng. Mohammed Hassan Al Nuaimi, and the Director General of the Award Issa Al Badr.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Municipality stated on Thursday that the meeting featured an in-depth discussion with a group of experts and specialists. The focus was on strategizing ATA's transformation to enhance its sustainability and support its aspirations for a broader global impact.
The participants also deliberated on mechanisms for developing the award's criteria to align with international best practices. They discussed expanding regional and global partnerships and exploring new opportunities for innovation and excellence in municipal work.
They emphasized the importance of establishing a clear implementation plan to achieve the objectives in the upcoming phase. This plan aims to reinforce ATA's leading role in highlighting the achievements of Arab towns and promoting sustainable urban development initiatives at both regional and international levels.
