Dublin: The global combined efforts to pressure for surging life-saving humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip are imperative to help all people of Gaza who are in need, as well as to immediately embark on implementing early recovery and reconstruction programs, the Arab League said on Wednesday.
According to Qatar News Agency, this came in the remarks of Arab League Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector, Ambassador Faed Mustafa, before the Eighth Meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, convened in Dublin, Ireland.
The Ambassador stressed the importance of ramping up pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities to halt their violations and persistent aggression against the Palestinian people, as well as their repeated breaches and assaults, culminating in enabling the Palestinians to practice their rights to self-determination through ending the Israeli occupation and realizing independent and sovereign Palestinian statehood with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Ambassador Mustafa stressed that the rise of a Palestinian state is the only viable option to achieve peace, security, and stability in the region. He expressed the Arab League’s gratitude for Ireland’s supportive positions regarding the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
The meeting was marked by discussions and exchanges of ideas among the representatives of the nations and participating organizations pertaining to the efforts marshaled to move ahead toward implementing the New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, alongside US President Donald Trump’s peace plan.
