Al-khalis: Two people were killed and three others injured following an ammonia gas leak at a factory located on the outskirts of the Al-Khalis district, northwest of Diyala Governorate in northeastern Iraq.

According to Qatar News Agency,civil defense teams were quick to respond to the emergency, rescuing 19 individuals from the site. The deceased were transported to the forensic medicine department, while the injured received medical attention at a nearby hospital.

The sources further informed that authorities have initiated an investigation to uncover the circumstances and technical causes of the leak. Measures are being considered to prevent similar incidents in the future.
