Doha: The Amiri Guard successfully wrapped up its 2024 infantry competition and marked the graduation of four specialized training courses during a ceremony at the "Barzan" camp. The event took place on Thursday and was graced by the presence of HE Commander of the Amiri Guard, Lt. Gen. Hazza bin Khalil Al Shahwani. According to Qatar News Agency, the ceremony celebrated the completion of several courses, including a Protection, Rapid Intervention, and Convoy course conducted in collaboration with the French Armed Forces, a Basic Snipers course also facilitated by the French, a Facilities Security course, and the Advanced Khazanah course. Attendance included prominent figures such as the Deputy Commander of the Amiri Guard, the Inspector General, various aides to the Commander, and the Internal Security Attaché from the French Embassy. Representatives from the Qatari Armed Forces and the Internal Security Force "Lekhwiya" were also in attendance. The ceremony featured a speech by Major Abdullah Thawab Al Qa htani, Chairman of the Infantry Competition Committee, who highlighted the importance of the annual competition. He emphasized that nine platoons from different departments and units participated, reflecting the Amiri Guard's dedication to enhancing preparedness and discipline, especially as they prepare for the Qatar National Day parade. In the concluding part of the ceremony, HE Commander of the Amiri Guard awarded the top performers in the competition and honored the first-place graduates from each course, wishing them success in their future endeavors.
