Riyadh: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani participated in the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit held at the King Abdul Aziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, alongside other heads of state and delegations. The summit, which took place on Monday, focused on discussing strategies to halt the ongoing Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in hosting the summit, emphasizing the significance of collaborative discussions in addressing regional conflicts. Earlier in the day, HH the Amir left Doha to lead Qatar's delegation at the summit and arrived in Riyadh in time for the event. Following the summit, HH the Amir departed Riyadh, concluding his participation in the high-level meeting. In addition to his involvement in the summit, HH the Amir extended congratulations to the Presidents of Angola and Poland on the occasion of their respective Independence Days. Similarly, Q atar's Deputy Amir, Prime Minister, and Minister of Foreign Affairs also sent congratulatory messages to the leaders of Angola and Poland in recognition of their national celebrations. In parallel events, Qatar hosted a series of meetings and inaugurations aimed at strengthening international cooperation and promoting development. These include the Qatari-Uzbek joint committee session in Doha, the opening of Qatar's pavilion at COP29 in Baku, and the National Human Rights Committee's strategic plan launch for 2024-2030. In addition, QatarEnergy announced a new agreement with Chevron to acquire a 23% interest in a Mediterranean Sea concession, while the Qatar Red Crescent Society wrapped up medical convoys in Mauritania. Furthermore, the Aspire Academy Global Summit on Football Performance and Science commenced in Doha, attracting global sports representatives to discuss the latest developments in football training and performance. The summit coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Aspire Academy for Spor ts Excellence, underscoring Qatar's ongoing commitment to sports development and international collaboration.
