Doha: Protection and Social Rehabilitation Centre (Aman), affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development and Family's Qatar Foundation for Social Work, is set to organize a series of awareness-raising events starting tomorrow to commemorate International Women's Day, observed annually on March 8.
According to Qatar News Agency, this celebration is in collaboration with Lusail University, featuring an interactive forum titled 'Women - Achievements and Successes.' The events will commence tomorrow, continuing until March 8. The forum will be attended by academics, experts, consultants in social and family protection, prominent female figures, and directors from various government and private sectors.
Executive Director of Aman Centre Sheikh Dr. Nasser bin Ahmed Al-Thani emphasized the importance of celebrating International Women's Day every year by organizing events that underline the role of women in society. The forum will address various topics, including Qatar's support for women's rights and their participation in all fields. Dr. Al-Thani noted that women increasingly hold leadership positions, contributing to the nation's development alongside men.
Dr. Al-Thani also highlighted the significance of cooperation with other organizations to achieve Aman Centre's strategic objectives. He mentioned collaborations with the Community College of Qatar, Minaretein Center in Education City, and Al-Mujadilah Center, focusing on raising awareness about the centre's role and services for women, children, and victims of family disintegration.
The events aim to reach a broad audience of women and girls, enhancing awareness and education on social protection issues to combat violence and promote family cohesion. Director of the Community Awareness Department at Aman Centre, Bakhita Al Ghayathin, stressed the importance of these events in raising community awareness and showcasing the achievements of Qatari women. Al Ghayathin assured that Aman's services are delivered with confidentiality and privacy.
