Doha: HE Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security of Algeria Abdelhak Saihi has praised Qatar as a key partner in promoting social development and advancing justice among nations. Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the sidelines of the Second World Summit for Social Development 2025 in Doha, Saihi described cooperation between Qatar and Algeria as a "strategic opportunity" to exchange expertise and learn from global best practices in social welfare and development.
According to Qatar News Agency, the minister said the summit, currently hosted in Doha, offers a leading platform for sharing successful experiences and enhancing social innovation at both regional and international levels. He expressed appreciation for Qatar's efforts in providing exemplary social services that reflect the vision of its leadership in supporting vulnerable groups.
Saihi noted that Algeria continues to draw on international experiences in empowering women, supporting people with disabilities, and addressing unemployment. He emphasized that social funding and welfare programmes remain a cornerstone of Algeria's national budget, contributing to the promotion of social justice and sustainable development.
Highlighting the strong bilateral ties between the two nations, the minister said Qatar-Algeria partnerships offer new avenues to promote social progress and sustainable growth under the leadership of both countries. "The relations are founded on deep fraternal bonds and encompass multiple fields of cooperation, including agriculture, health, and social services," he added.
Concluding his remarks, Saihi affirmed that Algerian-Qatari cooperation reflects the shared commitment of both nations to develop innovative social policies and services that benefit their peoples, foster inclusivity, and advance social justice.
