Muscat: A delegation from the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) has visited Oman to make sure that the stadium where Al-Nahda Club will host its matches in the upcoming Gulf Champions League on Sept. 30 is properly ready. The delegation had a glimpse of the ongoing logistical and coaching arrangements that would streamline the reception of the clubs competing with Al-Nahda and ensure a perfect organizational environment that would prompt success for the tournament.
According to Qatar News Agency, AGCFF continues its inspection tours to the stadiums of the clubs participating in this tournament as part of its keenness to follow up on these preparations and have all success elements in place for this new championship. The tournament's draw placed Qatar's Al-Rayyan at the top of Group B, alongside Saudi Arabia's Al-Shabab, Oman's Al-Nahda, and Yemen's Tadamon Hadramout, with Al-Rayyan having made the cut as the group's seeded team.
Meanwhile, Iraq's Zakho leads Group A, joined by UAE's Al-Ain, Bahrain's Sitra, and Kuwait's Al-Qadsia. Under the competition format, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, which will be contested over two legs, home and away.
Strikingly, Iraq's Zakho Club captured the title in the previous tournament, edging out Kuwait's Al-Qadsia in the final by a score of 2-1.
