Sumatra: A 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck the Indonesian island of Sumatra on Tuesday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the earthquake occurred approximately 192 kilometers northwest of Sinabang, at a depth of 10 kilometers, as reported by the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency.
Indonesia is regularly exposed to earthquakes, as it is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where many tectonic plates meet and cause frequent volcanic and seismic activity.
