Fiji: An earthquake measuring 5.0 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Sunday south of the Fiji Islands in the South Pacific Ocean.

According to Qatar News Agency, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 486.2 km, as reported by the US Geological Survey (USGS). Fiji lies within the Pacific Ring of Fire, a region known for its frequent seismic activity, including powerful earthquakes.
