Suva: An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale struck Fiji on Wednesday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the earthquake struck south of Fiji at a depth of 335 km, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported. There have been no reports of casualties or damage.

Fiji experiences frequent seismic activity as it lies within the Pacific Ring of Fire, a major area of tectonic activity.
