Bingol: A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck Sunday Bingol province in eastern Turkiye.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said in a statement today that the earthquake struck the Genc district of the province, at a depth of 6.99 kilometers.
So far, no reports of casualties or material damage have been reported.
Turkiye is occasionally struck by strong earthquakes and tremors due to its location at the intersection of several major tectonic plates.
