Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that an unconditional ceasefire must be the first step toward peace. "A ceasefire - real and lasting - must be the first step toward a secure and enduring peace," Zelensky said in statements reported by the Ukrainian National News Agency (Ukrinform).
According to Qatar News Agency, Zelensky stated that Ukrainian representatives, both at the meetings held in Paris and at the meetings scheduled this week in London, would have a primary task regarding an unconditional ceasefire. Zelensky affirmed Ukraine's proposal to refrain from striking at least civilian infrastructure, accusing Russia of prolonging the war.
He highlighted that on Sunday alone, Russian forces violated the ceasefire declared by Russian leader Vladimir Putin 2,935 times.
