WTT Youth Star Contender to Conclude Tomorrow at Lusail Sports Arena

Lusail: The WTT Youth Star Contender, part of the 31st Qatar International Combined Table Tennis Series, will draw to a close on Sunday at the Lusail Sports Arena.

According to Qatar News Agency, this tournament featured a total of 102 players from 25 countries, competing across 10 categories, including boys' and girls' singles and doubles U15 and U19, as well as mixed doubles for the same age group. The participants are vying for a total prize pool of $15,000.

Qatari players have shown notable performances during the group stage. In the U15 boys' category, Abdulaziz Al Abbad secured a 3-0 victory over Egypt's Salah Allam in Group D. Meanwhile, Rabeah Al Kuwari also achieved a 3-0 win over Sri Lanka's Tavi Samaraweera in Group A.

In the girls' U15 category, Rasha Laghribi claimed a 3-0 win against Mongolia's Jargalmaa Jamiyandagva in Group D. Laghribi also competed in the U19 category but was defeated by South Korea's Lee Yeseo with a score of 3-1. Her teammate, Ruqayya Al Baz, recorded a 3-0 victory over Saudi Arabia's Hissah Al Khaldi and replicated her success in the U15 category with another 3-0 win.

In the U19 boys' division, Rawad Al Nasser from Qatar achieved a 3-2 victory over Austria's Patrick Skerbinz in the seventh group matches. The Qatari players are determined to maintain their strong performances and aim for the finals after their commendable displays throughout the tournament.
