Doha: The Family Counseling Center (Wifaq), a part of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, has conducted a series of awareness lectures aimed at girls in the residential care department at the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (Aman). The initiative seeks to empower young women by equipping them with life and social skills essential for psychological and family stability.
According to Qatar News Agency, this collaborative effort between Wifaq and Aman is designed to impart knowledge and practical skills that enable girls to establish healthy family relationships and successfully navigate challenges within their families or social environments. Focus is placed on developing communication skills, understanding family dynamics, and fostering a sense of belonging and responsibility.
The first lecture, titled 'Dialogue Within the Family,' was delivered by Lulwa Al Yazidi, Director of the Community Awareness Department at Wifaq. She emphasized dialogue as crucial for understanding and connection among family members, and discussed positive communication methods to alleviate family tensions and strengthen emotional ties. The lecture also covered constructive listening, self-expression, and peaceful conflict resolution.
The second lecture, 'Our Solidarity is the Secret of Our Strength,' presented by social worker Aisha Al Jabri, explored family cohesion and its psychological and social aspects. Al Jabri highlighted the family as the foundational environment for individual growth, confidence, and identity. She also addressed the roles of family members in achieving balance, the importance of respecting differences, appreciating emotions, and equitable role distribution for family stability.
Wifaq Center stated that these awareness programs are part of a strategic plan aimed at broadening family awareness and reaching target groups with specialized initiatives to build personal skills, enhance psychological resilience, and help girls manage family relationships with awareness and maturity.
Aman Center expressed its commitment to collaboration with various organizations to fulfill its mission of protecting women, children, and victims of domestic violence. The center noted that Wifaq's involvement in these lectures and workshops is a positive step toward enhancing social protection and strengthening family bonds.
