Gaza: The World Health Organization warned of the exacerbating malnutrition among Gaza children, stating that 1,400 cases of undernourished children have been recorded, triggering intervention and urgent medical treatment.
According to Qatar News Agency, children suffering from acute malnutrition without essential therapy are facing the danger of death, despite the existence of three therapeutic centers in the Strip, WHO said in a statement on its official website on Wednesday.
The organization noted that the number of children receiving treatment remains below expected levels, either due to difficulties in accessing health centers or frequent displacement, which leads to treatment being incomplete for one in every five children.
In addition, WHO expressed its profound perturbation over the outbreak of acute watery diarrhea, which poses a fatal threat to already undernourished children due to the deterioration of water and sanitation infrastructure in the Strip.
