Doha: The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) has called for urgent international action to prioritize the needs of civilians, ensure the protection of humanitarian workers, and allow immediate and unhindered humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
According to Qatar News Agency, WFP highlighted the deepening humanitarian crisis in a post on the X platform, emphasizing that "Families in Gaza do not know where their next meal will come from." This statement underscores the severe impact of the stifling siege imposed by the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip for nearly seven weeks.
The situation escalated when the Israeli occupation forces resumed their aggression on the Gaza Strip on March 18. This occurred after a two-month ceasefire that began on January 19 was violated by the occupation forces, who bombed various areas of the Strip, resulting in casualties. In addition to the aggression, the occupation refused to implement the humanitarian protocol and further tightened its blockade, leading to an unprecedented humanitarian tragedy in the region.
