Gaza: The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) emphasized the necessity of maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza, asserting that it cannot be reversed.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a post on its X account on Saturday, the WFP stated, “Six weeks into the ceasefire, WFP has reached one million people across Gaza, restoring distribution points, reopening bakeries, and expanding cash assistance. The impact of safe and sustained humanitarian access is evident. The ceasefire must hold. There can be no going back.” The post highlighted that the path to safe and sustainable humanitarian access is clear.
Approximately 1.5 million residents in Gaza face dire conditions, with ongoing forced displacement due to the extensive destruction caused by Israeli occupation forces over the past 15 months of aggression.
As the holy month of Ramadan begins, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza intensifies, with Palestinians struggling to secure food and water, exacerbating their suffering.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for adherence to the Gaza ceasefire agreement, emphasizing that the coming days are crucial.
