Doha: TASMU Accelerator, an initiative under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology's (MCIT) TASMU Smart Qatar program, revealed the signing of multiple strategic agreements with Mowasalat (Karwa), DHL Express Qatar, and PwC Middle East during the Web Summit Qatar 2026.

According to Qatar News Agency, the TASMU Accelerator announced the selection of five proof-of-concept projects from four startups in its third cohort, to be co-developed with Mowasalat (Karwa). The cooperation agreement was signed by Eman Al Kuwari, Director of the Digital Innovation Department at MCIT, and Dr. Hamed Al Shaibani, Executive Director of the Information and Communications Technology Department at Mowasalat (Karwa). The next phase will focus on testing the practical viability of these solutions, measuring their impact on operational efficiency, and advancing digital transformation across Mowasalat's core operations.

The selected projects feature an advanced fuel optimization solution for testing on four buses, digital platforms for document management and contractor collaboration, and digital solutions for facilities management, fleet procurement, e-permits for premises access, and machine learning integration within business applications.

Eman Al Kuwari emphasized the role of TASMU Accelerator in enabling startups to test technology solutions in real-world environments, in partnership with sector entities. She noted that this collaboration with Mowasalat aligns with the Ministry's commitment to linking digital innovation with operational needs, contributing to the adoption of digital technologies and enhancing operational efficiency.

Dr. Hamed Al Shaibani highlighted that the partnership with TASMU supports innovation in smart mobility and sustainable transport by integrating startups with operational expertise and a live transport ecosystem, facilitating scalable solutions to enhance efficiency in the transport sector.

Additionally, TASMU Accelerator signed a partnership agreement with DHL Express Qatar, represented by Henry Fares, Managing Director of DHL Express Qatar. This agreement aims to support startups by connecting their technology solutions with market needs, especially in logistics and supply chain sectors. DHL Express Qatar will offer operational insights and opportunities for startups to test and develop their solutions.

Furthermore, a partnership agreement with PwC Middle East was established, represented by Yazen Al Safi. This agreement positions PwC Middle East as the Cohort Champion for the fourth cohort of TASMU Accelerator, with a cash prize of QAR 200,000 for the best startup and strategic support including mentorship and business development guidance.

These partnerships demonstrate a collaborative approach between government initiatives and private sector leaders, aiming to strengthen Qatar's position as a hub for digital innovation and entrepreneurship, in line with Qatar's Digital Agenda 2030.
