US President Signs Executive Order Assuring Qatar’s Security

Doha: HE President of the United States of America Donald Trump signed an executive order assuring the security of the State of Qatar.

According to Qatar News Agency, the White House stated that the executive order outlines that the United States shall consider any armed attack on Qatar's territory, sovereignty, or critical infrastructure as a threat to its own peace and security.

The statement elaborated on the longstanding cooperation between the United States and Qatar, emphasizing their shared interests and the close relationship between their armed forces. Qatar has hosted US forces, facilitated essential security operations, and remained a reliable ally in efforts to achieve peace, stability, and prosperity in the Middle East and beyond. It has also played a role as a mediator in the United States' attempts to resolve significant regional and global conflicts. In light of ongoing threats from foreign aggression, the policy of the United States is to guarantee Qatar's security and territorial integrity against external attacks.

The statement concluded by affirming that in the event of an attack, the United States will take all lawful and appropriate measures, including diplomatic, economic, and potentially military actions, to defend its interests and those of Qatar, aiming to restore peace and stability.
