US President Briefs Ukrainian Counterpart, NATO Leaders on Alaska Summit Outcomes


Washington: US President Donald Trump briefed his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy as well as NATO leaders and several European leaders on the outcomes of his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.



According to Qatar News Agency, a statement issued by the White House today said that President Trump’s phone calls took place during his return to Washington. The calls included European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as the leaders of Germany, Finland, Poland, Italy, and the United Kingdom.



Media sources said that these calls lasted for more than an hour and a half. Later, Zelenskyy announced that he intends to visit Washington next Monday.
