US Envoy: Russia Must Make Concessions to End War in Ukraine

Washington: US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, stated that Moscow will have to make concessions to end the war in Ukraine.

According to Qatar News Agency, the concessions would primarily involve territorial matters and possibly the renunciation of the use of force, Kellogg said at a panel discussion. He emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin is unlikely to reduce his military forces, but the US aims to pressure him into actions he finds challenging.

Kellogg mentioned that the US could achieve this by disrupting Russia's newly formed alliances with countries like Iran, North Korea, and China, which were non-existent just a few years ago. He also highlighted that the US has the capability to exert more economic pressure on Russia, particularly by imposing stricter sanctions on Russian oil revenues. This could significantly impact Moscow's ability to finance its military operations.
