Washington: Lebanon and Israel will hold their first direct talks in Washington, Tuesday. Held under American auspices at the US Department of State, the meeting will discuss a ceasefire and de-escalation between the two sides.
According to Qatar News Agency, today's talks will look into setting a date for holding formal direct negotiations that would take place at a later stage, if the Israeli side accepts Lebanon's condition of a ceasefire, according to Lebanese sources.
These same sources noted the ongoing deliberations between Lebanon's presidency and its parliament to review the course of the meeting.
