Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip through the Karem Abu Salem crossing has been paused for safety reasons. According to Qatar News Agency, UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini stated via UNRWA's official 'X' account that the humanitarian operation in Gaza has become impossible due to the siege and hurdles imposed by the Israeli occupation forces on the Strip. Lazzarini emphasized that "the responsibility of protection of aid workers and supplies is Israel as the occupying power." He noted that "this difficult decision comes at a time hunger is rapidly deepening," highlighting the urgency of the situation. The UNRWA Commissioner-General further stressed the need to ensure that aid flows into Gaza safely and reiterated his call for a ceasefire, underscoring the critical need to address the humanitarian crisis in the region.
