Al-Qadas – Ma’an – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said on Sunday that about 1.7 million people have been forced to flee since the outbreak of the war in Gaza.
UNRWA wrote in a tweet on the social networking site X, ‘6 months of endless displacement; approximately 1.7 million people were forced to flee their homes.’
She added, “Since the outbreak of war in Gaza, UNRWA facilities have been used to provide emergency shelter to thousands of families who are searching for safety and have nowhere to go.”
According to a previous UN-backed report, famine is ‘expected and imminent’ in the northern half of Gaza; The number of people in the Palestinian territories facing ‘catastrophic levels’ of hunger has nearly doubled since last December.
He added that the vast majority of Gazans were displaced due to the Israeli war, and most of the health care infrastructure in the besieged Strip was destroyed.
