Jordan: The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced that the Lebanese Army has deployed to 165 locations in southern Lebanon since the cessation of hostilities in November 2014.

According to Qatar News Agency, UNIFIL stated it continues to support the Lebanese Army in its redeployment in southern Lebanon. The deployment to 165 locations since the ceasefire agreement is considered an important step towards extending state authority and improving security for communities in the south.

UNIFIL highlighted that this progress is based on close coordination on the ground and ongoing efforts to create a more stable environment, in accordance with Resolution 1701.
